Zarzar Lake

Zaraza Lake about 35km away from Damascus is the only dam in the basin of Barada and Al-Awaj River, which is filled annually. Many Damascene come hear on Fridays for picnic (Sairaan).

7 years ago, I had the same pic using my cam in syria, zarzar lake, on the way to bludan..
I loved this trip, but what I loved more was "selenfa"
    or latakia in general..

wish I can be there again one day..

thanks for taking me back for such a good memory....

  • The first time I went there I was like 8 years old and I was happy to see such large water surface near Damascus espcially that Barada hasn't been his usual a long time ago at least before I was born. When I went there last Friday I was releived to see as live it was before but what shock me was the dirt I saw. What a shame to distroy its beautilful image, espcially if every one would simply leave the place he used clean, it would be as beautiful as Evian (well not really :P but c'mon).
